 The ecitizen is a gateway portal to the majority of government services in Kenya. This website was powered by the government to help Kenyans get easy access to its services at their comfort. This has made it easier for the citizens to complete applications for government services. As many of you may know it always took time, money and energy to make it on the long queues to reach an office and get the help you needed.

The following items are required while applying for this account.

1. National ID card.

2. An active email address.

3. Passport sized photo.

4. A working mobile number.

Citizen.
This account is designed for Kenya citizens who are fully register citizens by the government.

Business account.

This account is suitable for businesses registered in Kenya. The key requirement is the business number of registration.

This account is okey for any foreigner who is living in Kenya. The most important requirement for this account is a foreigner certificate.

  • Choose an account that you want to register with from the four options (Citizens, Business, Foreign Residents, and Visitors) I will choose citizen as it is more popular and also commonly used.













  • You will be taken to another page where you will be required to verify your first name and the ID number on the verification form.

  • After being verified in the first page, in the next page, the portal displays options where you are required to insert your valid email address, your gender, password of your choice and agreeing with the portals' terms and conditions.

  • Go to your email address inbox and click the verification code sent to you by ecitizen.


  • Next verify you mobile number by entering the active mobile number to the option given and then hit verify. You will receive an sms which contains a verification code. Enter you verification code and hit verify.




  • The last step is whereby you are required to upload a passport photo size and continue. Bravo, you have successfully registered for your ecitizen account
